Introducing new generation education with high academic excellence is the need of the hour. Ample opportunities are provided at DEPS to develop and assess the critical, creative thinking skills with flexibility in approach.
The school follows ICSE syllabus prescribed by CISCE, New Delhi. The style of teaching ranges from an informal type at the preschool level to a semi-formal type in early primary school and moves on to a progressively formal type in late primary and secondary levels. The methodology of teaching is supported by smart class rooms TATA Class edge modules.
The academic year commences in June and concludes in April with two semesters. We conduct two Midterm exams and two Semester end exams to evaluate the students and their intellectual growth. Class X ICSE Examination is administered by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi. The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education has been designed as a Course of General Education and all candidates are required to enroll for six subjects and SUPW (Socially Useful Productive Work). This Examination pre-supposes a school course of ten years duration.
The progress of pupils is determined by means of regular mid-term tests and terminal examinations. A comprehensive report of these will be sent to parents regularly for their perusal and counter signature.
The annual promotion depends upon the performance of students in the mid-term tests, and Terminal examinations as well as upon the assessment of all other activities allotted to them throughout the year.
Every student is required to obtain 40% of marks in all subjects. Moreover, a minimum attendance of 90% is a requirement for promotion to the next higher class.
Students absenting themselves from any examinations will not be re-examined under any circumstances.
Anyone who resorts to malpractice will be debarred from the rest of the examinations. This may even lead to his/her dismissal from the school. No pupil who fails twice in the same class will be allowed to continue in the school.
Students who have not cleared all their fees and dues will be barred from appearing at the midterm and terminal examination. Result declared at the end of the year is final in all cases and will not be reconsidered nor will the answer scripts of the final examination be shown to anyone. In all matters connected with the admission, dismissal, examination and promotion/detention of students the decision of the Principal is final and binding.
